The Tea Chai
Launched in the hectic summer of 2022, this podcast was born while I was balancing life as a full-time student, worker, intern, older sister, and proud owner of a very not sporty 1999 Honda Civic. It’s a space to explore the complexities of growing up as a teen immigrant and navigating adulthood between two cultures.
While I’ve been fortunate with my immigration status, figuring out my identity has been its own journey. Through conversations on intersectionality, community, generational gaps, and embracing dual identities, this podcast unpacks the nuances of living a dual life. It’s a project close to my heart—one that even earned me a surprising $5k scholarship along the way!

Inspiration
Why: For anyone caught between two worlds.
Goal: Open conversations about identity, culture, and community.
Audience: Immigrants, children of immigrants, educators, and the culturally curious.
My Story: Juggling school, work, family, and my very un-sporty 1999 Honda Civic.
Vision: Spark connection, understanding, and laughter through shared stories.
Why this matters
This podcast isn’t just about my story—it’s about creating a space where others can see themselves reflected, too. Whether you’re an immigrant, a child of immigrants, or someone curious about the immigrant experience, these conversations remind us that identity is fluid, complex, and deeply personal. By sharing these stories, I hope to foster understanding, bridge cultural gaps, and celebrate the beauty of living between worlds. It’s a reminder that our voices matter, and our stories are worth telling.
